June 30, 2022
On 24 June 2022, ENOC issued a position statement on The protection of the rights of children fleeing the war in Ukraine. The statement contains actionable and detailed recommendations informed by the expertise and national experiences of the Independent Children’s Rights Institutions members of the Network who identified particularly sensitive junctures for the protection of the rights of children arriving from Ukraine.
The recommendations address issues such as: mandatory registration of children and families, emergency response for unaccompanied and separated children, guardianship, reception and living conditions in the reception countries, child-friendly procedures, child sexual exploitation and trafficking, and financial and material assistance to first reception countries.
ENOC calls on reception countries and competent EU institutions to implement these recommendations without delay.
