ENYA 2017 Forum “The Road to R.I.O: Exploring and empowering youth identity and relationships”

An ENYA (European Network of Young Advisors) Forum gathering twenty two young people from eleven countries (Azerbaijan, Belgium/French community, Catalonia (Spain), Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Poland, Scotland, and Wales) is scheduled to take place on 29-30 June 2017 in Paris, France. Ombudspersons and Commissioners for Children and Young People from Catalonia, Greece, Finland, France and Scotland will join the event as well as the eleven ENYA country Coordinators.

The 2017 ENYA project theme revolves around youth identity and relationships, including sexuality education. In particular, young people participating in the project exchanged views and explored their peers’ opinions first at country levels on how they feel they can gain respect from adults, how they can gather necessary information and how they can freely express their opinions on issues connected with their identity and relationships. Following up on a three month long country activities, elected young people (two young representatives per country) from the 11 participating countries will meet together on the occasion of the ENYA Forum to discuss and agree on common recommendations on the main theme. The Forum programme includes also a creative workshop where participating young people will be assisted by a theater professsional to express shared ideas and views using an artistic approach.

The Forum concluding part includes an evaluation and election session where young participant will not only assess the quality of the project and of the event and the relevance of the theme but will also elect two delegates to present the ENYA 2017 RIO project, activities and achievements on the occasion of ENOC’s 21st Annual Conference to take place on 19-20 September 2017 in Helsinki, Finland.
